John McCreesh has held a number of senior IT management roles with international blue chip companies such as Motorola Inc, the Forbo Group, and the RBS Group. In his spare time he has also contributed to a variety of open-source projects, from founding phpMyEdit in 2000 to becoming Marketing Project Lead for OpenOffice.org in 2006.
John has written on IT and other issues for both on-line and print media. His support for the open-source community ties in with his other non-IT interests such as permaculture, sustainability, and fair economic systems.
John holds a BSc in Physics with Electronics from The City University, and took his MBA with The OpenBusiness School. He is a Member of the Association for Project Management, a Member of the British Computer Society, and a Chartered Engineer.
