Alexey Rusakov is working with Linux since 2001, with experience from writing tiny scripts that facilitate developer’s everyday life to making complex web-based search systems, packaging GNOME Desktop for the Sisyphus repository, and organizing development of distributions.

Alexey is managing several projects in ALT Linux, including distributions development and the international program. In 2008 he was involved in creating Linux distributions for a project of mass Free Software deployment in 2000 schools of Russia – at that time, the largest project of that kind in the world.

When not at work, Alexey can be found on a ballroom floor studying European and Latin dances. In the time spare from job and dancing, he messes with his GNOME system. You can find patches and translations of Alexey here and there in various GNOME modules. He’s still an active participant of ALT Linux Team – a group of 200 people that build packages for Sisyphus.
