I'm not a programmer or application developer but i do use opensource platforms such as Moodle and Drupal built on PHP, and i do have a very basic understanding of PHP and hoping to learn more about it. I would say one of the other key things that has helped PHP grow in popularity and adoption is the great documentation on php.net. Traditionally opensource projects have not been known for good documentation. PHP stands out with great language documentation. I want to say welldone to you guys at Zend.
