I am trying to migrate to Linux as a development tool.
I hate to say this, but wubi seems to be one of many half-baked Linux "tools" designed to entice an average user to switch to Linux. If I have a running Windows I need / want a simple way to extract an application from the web.
Wubi does not do that - it downloads desktop only (why?) and than you need to burn the CD.
Wubi is a band-aid and was designed as such judging from this interview.
To be a up to par it needs parameters allowing it to download / install specific package to a specific destination.
It is a poor assumption that just because it is free it does not have to be top notch application.
Sorry, but it is not.

Wubi is a bearware.

Hi there !

Thank you Agostino Russo and to all your team for your great product. Because I discover Ubuntu Linux with your product. I heard a lot about Linux Distros. But I was to lazy to burn a CD :), or maybe I was too slave to Windows :). Wubi give me the freedom to learn Ubuntu, and open my mind to the world of Linux. Thanks again.
